Race of Champions qualifying criteria expanded for 2010 Super Nationals

2009 Modified Race of Champions DriversBOONE, Iowa – More drivers racing in multiple divisions have resulted in an expanded criteria for Race of Champion qualifying at the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals.

Drivers planning on doing double duty in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod divisions can attempt to qualify for both main events but any leading local track point standings in both divisions will have to choose between which Arnold Motor Supply-sponsored RoC for which they will try to qualify.

The same policy has been adopted for Harris Auto Racing Modified Race of Champions and Sunoco Race Fuels Stock Car Race of Champions qualifying, and for Stock Car/SportMod RoC qualifying.

“This is an issue that has come up as the number of drivers racing weekly in  two divisions has increased,” explained IMCA Vice President of Operations Brett Root. “We need to address potential situations before drivers attempt to sign up for qualifying in more than one race of champions event.”
