270 Modifieds, 170 Stocks start qualifying Wednesday

BOONE, (Iowa) – The first night of qualifying for Modifieds and Stock Cars pushed total entries for the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals past the 800 mark for the third straight year.

Two hundred and seventy Modifieds and 170 Stock Cars see their first action Wednesday at Boone Speedway. Modifieds will qualify the top eight in the inside row of Saturday’s main event, while 10 Stock Car drivers advance to the inside row of their big dance.

Total car count for the 2010 Super Nationals is now 804. The 2009 Super Nationals saw 816 entries, including 16 Sprint Cars; the winged class is not part of this year’s event.


The first eight Stock Car heat races have been completed, tack prep is underway with another Modified hot lap session set to precede the second group of eight Stock heats.
