The Boone Speedway got their regular season underway on Saturday night with warm temperatures to go along with the hot racing action.  Mother Nature blessed the track as storms passed to the north giving fans no more than a distant light show.April 9, 2011 Stock Car Feature WinnerApril 9, 2011 Racing ActionApril 9, 2011 Racing ActionApril 9, 2011 Racing ActionApril 9, 2011 Racing Action

The Dwarf/Mod Lites ran their feature first.  The familiar #99 car of Josh May quickly jumped to the lead and never relinquished that number one spot as he took the win.    David Schmalzried and Jeff Stensland finished a close second and third.  Fourth went to Bryan Zehm and fifth to James May.

The IMCA Northern SportMod had to run two B main events to whittle the starting A feature down to 24 cars.  Those were won by Eric Elliott and Nick Roberts.  In the feature, Randy Roberts took the win in easy fashion.  Second place went to Clint Luellen, third to the 01 car of Troy Jerovetz from Wisconsin, fourth to Boone, Iowa’s own Scott Davis, and rounding out the top five was Kellogg, Iowa driver, Kyle Brown.  The race went flag-to-flag.

It was a veteran driver, Cale Sponsler who found victory lane in the IMCA modified feature.  He had to fight off the challenges of a heated battle behind him as Todd Shute, Jimmy Gustin and Justin Sackett finished a close second, third, and fourth.  Russ Dickerson finished in fifth.

Randy Killen, Des Moines, Iowa driver, took the win in the IMCA stock car feature.  Killen led most of the race and finished comfortably ahead of second place Damon Murty.  Third went to Cory Bushnell, fourth to Josh Daniels and fifth to Trent Murphy.

Closing out the evening was the IMCA Hobby Stock feature.  One B main event filled out their 24-car starting field.  That B main was won by Donnie Gustoff.  Michael Murphy led all laps of the race to take the win.  Finishing behind him in second was Randy Embrey and then it was Eric Stanton in third, Chris Hupp in fourth and John Watson was fifth.
