Super Nationals crews compete in pit stop contest

BOONE, Iowa – They usually do their work behind the scenes, but pit crew members will get to show off their skills in front of early afternoon grandstand spectators during the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Cenex.Pit Stop Contest

Crews posting the fastest time in changing tires and buckling up their driver in preliminary pit stop contests on Monday, Sept. 5, Wednesday, Sept. 7 and Friday, Sept. 9 advance to a main event of their own on Saturday, Sept. 10 at Boone Speedway.

The car and wrench will be furnished; there is a $5 per crew member entry fee and prize money will be paid out Saturday.

The contest is open to crew members from any sanctioned division and a limited number of entries will be accepted for each of the three preliminary rounds.

Sign-up sheets should be returned by 11 a.m. each day to the IMCA souvenir trailer in the pit area. The pit stop contest will start at 12:30 p.m.
