Dustin Van Horn and North Dakota long tow Dana Brandt drew front row starts for tonight’s Hobby Stock qualifying feature.

A pair of heavy hitters line up in the second row: Four-time Super nationals champion Andy Boeckman is on the inside and current national point leader Devin Smith is on the outside.

2009 Super Nationals king Shannon Anderson will start 13th; Jason Wilkinson ran sixth in the heat won by Van Horn and will resume efforts to defend his 2010 crown on Tuesday.


Three late arrivals pushed the number of Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod entries to a record 185.

Since making its initial appearance at Super Nationals with 54 entries in 2005, the division has now set new car count records every year: 72 in 2006, 104 in 2007, 139 in 2008, 165 in 2009 and 182 last year.

Twenty SportMod heat races are on the Monday schedule of events.

Both Hobby Stocks and SportMods qualify the inside row of 10 for their Saturday main events.


Many of the fans at Boone Speedway got their first look at IMCA’s Mach-1 Sport Compact class during hot laps Monday.

The first-ever program for the 4-cylinder class at Super Nationals is Tuesday. Seventeen of the cars hotlapped today.
