Nielsen is first in final qualifier for Hobby Stocks

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 7) – Cody Nielsen earned the final front row starting spot for the Hobby Stock main event at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Cenex.
Nlielsen took the checkers in Wednesday’s last-chance qualifying feature, contested by the top 30 drivers in points, at Boone Speedway.
He’ll head up the outside row on Saturday, ahead of Robby Marsh, defending champion Jason Wilkinson, Nathan Ballard, Scott Pippert, Cody Knecht, Kyle Bond, Brent Schlake, Damon Richards and Cory Adams.
Adams, Bond, Pippert and Richards came from the back half of the field: Bond advanced 13 positions, Pippert and Richards both 16 positions.
Marsh will make his career fourth main event start Saturday evening, Schlake and Wilkinson both their second. Ballard, Nielsen, Knecht, Adams, Bond, Pippert and Richards both punched their first tickets to the big dance.
