Times announced for April 7 car show in Boone

BOONE, Iowa – Fans will get a chance to see race cars up close and talk to their favorite IMCA drivers during the car show preceding the Saturday, April 7 Frostbuster at Boone Speedway.

The Boone Area Merchants Association-sponsored car show will be held in the 700 and 800 blocks of Story Street, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. that day. Votes can be cast in local stores for a favorite car, with the winner to receive a trophy.

Several merchants will have car show-related ads running in the Boone Shopping News so fans are advised to check there for coupons.

IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods see their first action of the season that evening at Boone.

Pit gates will open at 2 p.m., hot laps are at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 5 p.m.

First night for local track points will be April 14.
