Hula Hoop Contest on tap as Point Battles Heat Up in Summer Heat

Hula Hoop Contest set for Saturday, July 28.

With only six weekly racing events remaining in the 2012 season, the battle for track championships are heating up in all five divisions.

Jimmy Gustin leads the IMCA Modified division with Mike VanGenderen in second trailing by 15 points with Todd Shute in third only one point back of VanGenderen.

Scott Davis holds a 13-point edge on Eric Elliott in IMCA SportMods with Nick Roberts 26 points back in third.

IMCA Stock Car point leader Donavon Smith leads Wayne Gifford and Michael Murphy by 21 and 26 points, respectively.

John Watson leads the Pickett Auto Salvage Hobby Stock division by 23 points over Curt Reed and 39 points over Aaron Rudolph.

The Mod-Lite division has Josh May in the lead followed by Mike Kennedy in second and Randy Bryan in third.

Boone Speedway’s annual Hula Hoop Contest highlights the race program Saturday night.

Gates open at 6:00 pm, hot laps are at 6:45 pm and racing action starts at 7:30 pm.
