Armed with a new chassis, Deery Series point leader Jeff Aikey is coming off a $5,000 victory at the Pepsi and will challenge for a third Super Nationals title this evening.
“We’re getting some stuff figured out that works for me. Things are going pretty good for us right now,” he said. “This is a big race and I’d like to win it again.”
Already a six-time series champion, Aikey is hoping to wrap up a seventh crown with top finishes at Boone, next weekend’s Yankee Dirt Track Classic at Farley and then Davenport Speedway.
“We’ve been doing this long enough that there isn’t any pressure. We just go race to race,” he said. “There’s pressure when you’re racing for $40,000 to win. As long as we’re having fun, that’s all we care about.”
