BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 4) – One divisional car count was set and another equaled on day two of the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals. Fifty-five Mach-1 Sport Compacts towed to Boone Speedway, half a dozen more than for the division’s debut last season. Six states were represented in qualifying heats; the entire Sport Compact program will be held this evening. One new Hobby Stock was entered on Tuesday, putting the total for that division at a record-matching 153. That equals the entry number for the 2004 Super Nationals. Another Northern SportMod joined that fray, putting entry numbers at 180.
