Charitable, community betterment theme for best looking car contest at Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – Drivers looking to promote their favorite non-profit organization are reminded that they have the ultimate dirt track venue to do so in just five short weeks: Boone Speedway.

Best-looking Modifieds, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods with a charitable or community betterment theme will be determined by crowd vote on Saturday, Sept. 7, during the IMCA Speedway

This year's theme for the Super Nationals Best Appearing Car Contest will be charitable and community betterment designs. The 2012 contest had a patriotic theme, as shown on Tom Lathrop's car.

The Modified and Northern SportMod winner each receive a mini-mod door, the Stock Car and Hobby Stock winner each a mini-hood from Sybesma Graphics.

Winning drivers not qualified for that evening’s main events will have their cars on display in the Fan Zone south of the main grandstand.

“In addition to the contest, we also invite drivers to display their cars in our Fan Zone at a designated time during Saturday’s program to help raise awareness and contributions for their cause,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “Last year we did it for the first time with overwhelming success, so we’ll continue to make that a part of our Fan Zone festivities in 2013.”
