BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 7) – Championship Saturday has arrived at the 31st annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.
Fifteen last-chance heats for Modifieds, the last-chance feature for Stock Cars and last-chance features for Modifieds get the Sept. 7 show started at Boone Speedway.
The Karl Chevrolet Races of Champions for Hobby Stocks and Northern SportMods, the Sunoco Race Fuels Race of Champions for Stock Cars and the Harris Auto Racing Race of Champions for Modifieds precede main events for all four divisions.
Hobby Stocks, SportMods and Stock Car headliners are all 30 laps. The big dance for Modifieds is 40 laps.
Front row starters for the Harris RoC are Tim Ward and Dustin Smith, ahead of Ryan McDaniel, Jimmy Gustin, Clint Hatlestad, Brandon Beckendorf, Aaron Turnbull, Chris Abelson, Dylan Smith, Jesse Sobbing, Richie Gustin and Corey Lagroon.
Scott Pippert will lead the Sunoco RoC field to the initial green, with defending race winner Donavon Smith to his outside. Brandon Czarapata, Abe Huls, Brian Irvine, Perry Misner, David Smith, Kevin Opheim, Jay Schmidt and John Heinz complete the lineup.
Colby Langenberg has the pole start for the Hobby Stock RoC, with Randy Embrey to his outside. Trevor Holm, Brock Beeter, Corey Madden, Shannon Anderson, Jason Kohl, Chris Luloff, Bill Bonnett and Justin Nehring complete the third through 10th spots on the starting grid.
Front row for the Northern SportMod RoC has Bobby Anders on the pole and Joel Rust outside. Third through 10th starters are Eric Elliott, Tyler Frye, Nick Roberts, Clint Luellen, Austin Kaplan, Danny Dvorak, Robby Rosselli and Carter VanDenberg.
Two drivers with their share of career wins and then some were recognized during pre-race ceremonies this afternoon.
Mike Nichols won for the 300th time in his IMCA Sunoco Stock Car career while Shannon Anderson earned his career 200th IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock victory this season.
Both are the career wins leaders in their respective divisions.
Sybesma Graphics best looking car contest winners were Gary Roberts in the Modifieds and Steffan Carey in the Stock Cars.
Roberts’ ride promotes Goldenhar Syndrome. The wrap was done by his son (and fellow Modified driver) Matt.
Carey pilots the original Witten’s Warriors car, promoting cerebral palsy treatment and awareness.
Another hotly contested rock, paper, scissors contest held during track prep determined the outside row of tonight’s Stock Car main event.
Steve Meyer will lead Jake Masters, Brian Irvine, Wayne Gifford, Ken Tietz, Damon Murty, Todd Reitzler and Dustin Larson to green.
