Boone Speedway and P1 Promotions Team up for 2018 Race Season
BOONE, IA (FEB 7, 2018) Boone Speedway has brought in some new faces this season to handle the marketing, promotions, advertising, and public relations for the 2018 race year. The new team, P1 Promotions is co-owned by Coty and Jade Mallicoat and is also based in Boone, IA. Coty was a co-announcer in 2017 with Jerry Vansickel and has since expanded his role bringing along with him his wife Jade, who is a Public Relations graduate from Iowa State University.
The Mallicoats have already started working on new projects for the 2018 season and will be adding more as they come along. They will be working alongside track promoter, Robert Lawton, to provide a more fun, fast-paced environment for the fans, race car drivers, and spectators at home. They are currently adding new track sponsors, events to the 2018 schedule, resurrecting the kids Racing Rascals program, and more. They have already announced the Saturday Night Series presented by Harris Auto Racing and have been instrumental in getting cars and products given back to the racers so far this off-season.
Coty has an extensive 25 year background in the dirt track racing world and in addition to announcing last season, he has promoted the TiLUBE Challenge race in August the past 3 seasons at the Boone Speedway with increased success each year. He has also worked for Hoosier Racing Tire, TiLUBE Performance Lubricants, as well as done PR and marketing work for many racers and teams nationally including Ian Madsen and Kraig Kinser. He is excited about the opportunity.
“I grew up at the Boone Speedway and am grateful for the opportunity the Lawton’s gave us to help with the track. This is something I have wanted to do my whole life and I can guarantee you my passion for this job is unmatched. We definitely have some cool things up our sleeve for 2018 and I can’t wait for the staff, spectators, and racers to be apart of this. We are going to refocus some things and we’ll be back to being one of the best shows in country once again,” said Mallicoat.
A couple priorities the team is going to focus on is getting the kids programs put together as well as working with the community on events. They have been working to resurrect the very popular Racing Rascal program and hosting birthday parties for the children. They have also been working to make an event part of the Boone River Valley Festival on Memorial Day weekend and work closer with the community by providing 50/50 raffle nights to certain causes in the area.
“I’m excited to give back to the race track. My friends and I bring our kids nearly every Saturday night. I can’t wait to implement some new things for Racing Rascals and see how the children respond,” Jade Mallicoat said.
There will also be some new procedures for drivers and media as well in 2018. The speedway will be implementing new safety procedures for drivers to ensure safety is a top priority. Media members will also be able to apply for credentials for weekly events and if approved will be granted more access to areas around the speedway.
They are working on finalizing some special events for 2018 and are going to have an area set-up as a permanent fixture for IMCATV. They will be adding more broadcasts this season from Boone Speedway to their schedule as well.
Mallicoat concluded, “We’re not going to let all the cards out on the table just yet, but we’re working very hard at making this place somewhere all the drivers will want to race and somewhere the spectators will want to be every Saturday night.”
