Davis Dazzles Huge Crowd at Eve of Destruction

Scott Davis and Eric Elliott battled door-to-door for several laps and gave the standing room only crowd a great race Wednesday night at Boone Speedway’s 10th Annual Eve of Destruction.
Davis took full advantage of the draw, redraw format for the event, drawing the number one starting position for the 20-lap feature event. Davis jumped to the early lead while Elliott working his way to the front from the ninth starting position. Elliott was in the runner-up spot at the halfway point of the event and the two raced side-by-side for several laps. Elliott worked the high side of the racetrack with Davis on the bottom. Elliott was able to lead lap 12, but Davis was able to reclaim the lead on the 13th circuit and never looked back to claim the win. Elliott crossed the line in second, followed by Shawn Hunter, Nick Roberts and Darren Huntley.
Joe McBirnie and and Tara Longecker were heat race winners.
Racing action continues Saturday, July 7 with the IMCA Modifieds, SportMods, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and Mod-Lite and kids have the chance to ride on the race cars during intermission.
