Jerovetz wins heat

Troy Jerovetz won the Tuesday afternoon heat race and will return to defend his Arnold Motor Supply Northern SportMod Race of Champions title on Saturday night.

Top two finishers in each of five heats qualified for the fourth annual RoC. Joel Rust and Geoff Olson are back after third and fourth-place finishes, respectively, last year.

Tad Reutzel was third in 2010 and Jesse Sobbing was eighth in 2009.

First-time Race of Champion qualifiers are Jared Hansen, Jake Krone, James Kleinheksel, Dean Abbey and Austin Moyer.
