The 2008 Super Nationals runner-up topped Saturday’s Deery Series feature at Lee County Speedway, racing to the front after restarting at the back on the pack early on and passing race long leader Jason Perry coming out of the final turn.
The engine that took him to victory lane two nights is ago is also the $5,000 power plant he won with in the Memorial Day show at Boone two years ago.
Most is fifth in the tour point standings, one of a number of pleasant surprises this season for the Red Oak, Iowa, hotshoe.
“After not making the first show at West Burlington, maybe we’d make the top 15 in points,” Most said. “The biggest key to this points thing is to make the show.
A five time winner at Shelby County Speedway during the weekly point season, Most pocketed the $250 Sunoco Race Fuels drawing bonus for the second time before topping the thriller in Donnellson.
“I had a good enough car that I could run next to the guy on the bottom,” said Most, who used different lines to make his way to the front after exiting to the pit area with what he thought was a flat tire, being waved back onto the track and restarting at the tail. “I had to make sure I didn’t get pinched in on the straightaway.”
After passing Rob Toland with a couple laps left, Most had the fans on their feet for one of the most exciting finishes in series history, taking the high side on the final turn and getting just enough momentum to beat Perry to the checkers.
“When we got about 10 feet from the flagstand, I knew I had it,” he said.

Tyler Frye is hoping to enjoy the full week of the Super Nationals experience in 2010.
The national Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod point leader finished fourth on the first night of qualifying last year. His wife Diane called at 8 p.m. that evening to tell him she’d gone into labor.
Making trip home to Belleville, Kan., in substantially less time than the six hours it took to get to Boone, Frye was there to welcome son Trein into the world.
“That was the best thing I’ve ever missed a race for, I’ll guarantee you that,” he said.

Sophomore speedster Luke Lemmens is at Super Nationals, looking to build on a season that’s seen him top IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock standings at Thunderhill Raceway and for the State of Wisconsin.
A four time winner at Thunderhill and at Luxemburg Speedway, the Kewaunee, Wis., clipper made priorities of consistency and finishing feature races pay off with titles.
Eighteen years old and a graphics design major at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay, he made the move after two seasons in a local four cylinder class.
“The biggest difference was rear wheel drive and the competition level was a lot higher,” Lemmens said.
The car he brought to Boone is sold. Lemmens is in the process of purchasing a Modified for the 2011 campaign.
“The first time I saw this track was Sunday,” he said, contrasting Boone to his Badger State venues. “It’s really dark dirt, it’s really banked and it looks like a fun track.”
