Meyer in Sport Compacts

Cameron Meyer rolled his Mach-1 Sport Compact before coming to Super Nationals last September, then failed to qualify for the main event.

He got tire-side up again this year, last Thursday in his heat at US 30 Speedway.

Meyer still finished fourth in the feature that night, then won Saturday at Riviera Raceway. The victory was the 34th in 55 sanctioned starts for the national point leader.

The spark to his season came during “Speedweeks” in July, when Meyer won six of eight starts over the course of just nine nights.

“It’s been a crazy year,” said Meyer, crediting much of his success to a 24/7 emphasis on car maintenance. “It’s just seemed like about everything has gone our way.”
