17 IMCA features result in 17 different April winners
BOONE, Iowa – How’s this for parity? All 17 IMCA feature events held at Boone Speedway during the month of April produced different winners.
Jimmy Gustin topped the season opening Frostbuster feature for IMCA Modifieds and was followed to victory lane by Scott Baker on April 10, Adam Larson on April 17 and Richie Gustin on April 24.
Frostbuster honors for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars went to Trent Murphy. Rod Richards, Donavon Smith and Wayne Gifford all became winners in the class before the month was up.
Nick Murty was the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock Frostbuster king. Chris Hupp and Matt Wahlert won April 10 features, Michael Murphy was first on April 17 and Cody Gustoff won on April 24.
After Wisconsin hotshoe Troy Jerovetz snared the Frostbuster prize, Brett Moffitt, Austin Lucas and Scott Davis took Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod checkers.
The 2009 season started with different drivers winning the first six Modified and the first six Stock Car mains at Boone. Seven Hobby Stock features were needed to get a repeat winner in the Hobby Stocks.
Jeremy Embrey won back-to-back Northern SportMod features to start 2009.
