Ken Schrader joins IMCA Modifieds at April 7 Frostbuster
BOONE, Iowa – Ken Schrader joins the IMCA Modified field for the Frostbuster special this Saturday, April 7 at Boone Speedway.
The NASCAR favorite joins IMCA regulars in chasing a $1,000 top prize in the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier.
“I like the IMCA Modified. The rules take tires out of the equation and the engines have plenty of power, but they’re affordable,” said Schrader, who counted four outings in the sanctioned class last season. “These cars are just fun to drive.”
IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $500 to win, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods for $400 and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $250. Also on the card at Boone are two-lap king of the hill dashes, featuring Modified heat winners in an ultimate race for $500.
IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing national, regional and Allstar Performance Iowa State points will be given at all five shows. Entry fee is $30 for Modifieds, $25 for Stock Cars and $20 for SportMods and for Hobby Stocks. Pit passes are $25.
Gates open at 2 p.m., hot laps are at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 5 p.m. RACEceivers are required in each division.
The first 100 kids in the gate will receive an Easter treat!
