Cardboard Car Races August 13th!

Kids take hot laps in their cardboard creations during the 2010 Boone Speedway Cardboard Car races.

NOTE: Due to weather the cardboard car races originally scheduled for Saturday, August 6 will be Saturday, August 13.

Cardboard and duct tape are the tools of choice for young mechanics this weekend at Boone Speedway.

Kids will build their own cars for the annual Cardboard Car races and then pick their favorite driver to steer them to victory lane. The chosen drivers will have a foot race to the checkers with the winning trophy going to the cardboard car’s owner.

The fun kicks off at 6pm when the grandstands open. Hot laps begin at 6:45pm with racing at 7pm. Adults are $10, students aged 13-17 are $5 and kids 12 and under are $2.
