WoO Late Models, Hawkeye Challenge, Super Saturday’s top 2020 Schedule for Boone Speedway

WoO Late Models, Hawkeye Challenge, Super Saturday’s top 2020 Schedule for Boone Speedway

A lot of exciting things have been able to come together for the 2020 season at “Iowa’s Action Track” as we approach the new year. The highlight of those announcements has been the inaugural trip of the Morton Buildings World of Outlaws Late Models on May 1-2 with the Hawkeye 100.

“This honestly came together over a text message jokingly,” said Coty Mallicoat, co-promoter of Boone Speedway. “I heard that Cody Sommer had been working on some different projects and texted him saying we should have a late model race, and thats how it all came together.  Now it is a premier event on the Outlaw’s schedule and the feedback has been nothing but positive so far,” said Mallicoat.

With that on top of the WoO events, the speedway will be bringing back the Hawkeye Challenge once again on June 13 featuring all classes including the Racesaver Sprint Cars for one night.  Three Rage Chassis Super Saturday’s have also been brought back to the schedule in 2020 featuring increased purses.  The highlight of the Super Saturday events will be the IMCA Modified Triple Crown featuring the 6th Annual TiLUBE Challenge with the Watermelon Classic for all classes and the Pole Position Raceway 2nd Chance Showdown for modifieds. In 2019, 43 modifieds were in attendance for this event with over 160 cars total.

“The Super Saturday’s have been a big draw for us, and it gives the fans a chance to see the best drivers in the country show up for a weekly Saturday night.  The TiLUBE Challenge got me started in this promotion business, so to see the growth of that event means a lot and hopefully we can get to 50 this year,” said Mallicoat.

Along with those events, we will see the return of the Outlaw Mini Mods, IMCA Sport Compacts, SxS UTV Races, and the Excel Floor Covering King of the Hill races.

The Cruiser Cars will start on May 9th and conclude their season on July 25th.  Karl Chevrolet Dirt Trucks will make two appearances throughout the season.

Mallicoat was excited for a couple more projects to get buttoned up before the season as well, “We’re still working on a couple things, trying to get ends tied up before Frostbuster in April, and hopefully we can get that done, it should add a couple things that nobody has ever seen if we can pull it off. Stay tuned.”
