Holiday Weekend Takes Thompson to Marshalltown & Boone

Cody Thompson kicked off his holiday weekend on Friday night at Marshalltown (Iowa) Speedway, where he went into battle against a field of 47 entries. (Byron Fitcher image)

Charging from eighth to fourth in his heat race, Cody lined up19th on the feature grid. During the course of the 20-lap feature he advanced to a sixth-place finish.

On Saturday night Cody rolled into Boone (Iowa) Speedway for the Prelude to the Nationals, where a staggering 139 competitors looked to get a jump on the coveted week.

After passing five cars in his heat race to finish seventh, Thompson was relegated to a B-Main. Starting 11th in the consolation event, he saw his night come to an early end in the eighth position.
